Adolescence poses many challenges. Self image, friendship, relationships and feelings of inadequacy are just some of the issues facing teenagers. For teens living with heart conditions, the challenges are much more complicated. They need a special kind of support as they grow into adulthood.

At teens@Heart, our heart teens get to connect with other teens with similar experiences and challenges, share feelings and coping strategies, and build friendships and peer support.

Every year, 13- to 17-year-old heart teens have the opportunity to go to Camp Teen Beat – an outdoor pursuit that encourages them to challenge themselves in a safe environment, learn coping strategies and life skills, and have fun.

Heart Kids annual appeal will be held from 22 – 28 May.  We will be looking for volunteers to assist with our nationwide street collections.  If you are interested in helping or know someone who might be please email laura@heartnz.org.nz
